What Marketplace autofill is
If you have inventory to sell, Facebook Marketplace asks you to fill in a form for every listing. The vehicle form asks for vehicle type, year, make, model, mileage, body style, fuel type, transmission, price, a description and photos. Posting one car by hand means typing all of that and adding the photos yourself.
Autofill takes the data you already hold, on your website or in a CSV export, and puts it into those fields for you. The form still opens on facebook.com in your rep's browser. The difference is how much of it they have to type.
Today DealerList fills the Marketplace vehicle form, so car dealerships come first. CounterList AI, for parts, is next. Other inventory types are on the way. If you sell something else, the flow will be the same: pick the item, the AI writes the listing, the extension fills the form.
What DealerList does, step by step
- Inventory comes in. DealerList captures vehicles from your dealership website, or from a CSV export out of your DMS. They appear in the DealerList dashboard.
- The rep picks a vehicle. The rep picks the car to post in the dashboard.
- The AI writes the listing copy. The description is drafted from the vehicle's details.
- The Chrome extension fills the form. On facebook.com it enters vehicle type, year, make, model, mileage (in km for Canadian cars), body style, fuel type, transmission, price and description, then uploads up to 20 photos in order. It ticks "clean title".
- A card shows what is left. A live progress card shows the fill phase by phase. An assist card lists anything the rep still needs to set, with one-click copy for each value.
- The rep reviews and clicks Publish. Nothing goes live until they do.
The extension is on the Chrome Web Store. The guide walks through a first post.
What it refuses to do
Two rules shape the whole product.
It never publishes on its own. The extension fills the form and stops. Your rep reads it, changes anything they want, and clicks Publish themselves. There is no scheduled or unattended posting.
It never guesses a spec. Year, make, model, body style, fuel type and transmission come from the VIN decode. If your site did not state a value and the decode does not return it, the field is left blank and the on-page card tells the rep to pick it. A mileage of 0 or a price of 0 is never typed; the card asks for the real figure instead.
Two fields are always left to the rep: colour and condition. That is two clicks on the form. Sold vehicles are not removed automatically. The rep marks the car sold in DealerList.
Manual posting vs autofill

| Description | Written by the rep each time | Drafted by the AI, edited by the rep |
| Photos | Added by the rep | Up to 20 loaded in order |
| Price | Typed by hand | From inventory; 0 is never typed |

Who it is for today
Any business with inventory to list is who this is built for, and the flow is the same whatever you sell: pick the item, the AI writes the listing, the extension fills the form. What the extension can fill today is the Marketplace vehicle form and no other Marketplace form, so car dealerships come first: a used-car lot, a franchise store's pre-owned department or a multi-location group with reps posting every day. Managers get a Sales Tracker: who posted what, what sold, what needs attention. Reps mark cars sold.
Parts are next. CounterList AI, a sister product from the same team, is in build: you type an OEM part number, it finds the catalogue photos, writes the listing and fills the Marketplace item form. It is not launched yet. Other inventory types are on the way after that. If your inventory is not vehicles, the tool will not fill your form today, and we would rather say so than sell you the wrong thing.

Questions
Does DealerList post the listing for me?
No. It fills the Marketplace vehicle form and stops. Your rep reviews the form and clicks Publish. The tool never publishes on its own.
What happens if a spec is missing from my website?
Year, make, model, body style, fuel type and transmission come from the VIN decode. If your site did not state the value and the decode does not return it, the field is left blank and the on-page card tells your rep to pick it. Nothing is guessed.
Does it work for parts or other Marketplace item listings?
Not today. DealerList fills the vehicle form only. CounterList AI, for parts, is in build and not yet launched. Other inventory types are on the way.
Does it remove the listing when the car sells?
No. Your rep marks the car sold in DealerList and the Sales Tracker records it. Automatic sold-removal is not supported.
How is mileage entered for Canadian cars?
In km. A mileage of 0 is never typed; the assist card asks the rep for the real value.
